Principal of the Firm
Jefferson M. Chickering, CPA, MST
Twenty-five years of public and private industry experience, including over seven years with Ernst & Young, LLP and Price Waterhouse, LLP. Mr. Chickering graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration, where he was both an Honors Student and an Edgar C. Hirst scholar. Mr. Chickering also graduated from Northeastern University, with a M.S. Degree in Taxation, where he was a Beta Gamma Sigma scholar.
Mr. Chickering is the past Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer of the Governor appointed State of New Hampshire Board of Accountancy, where he assisted the Board in its mission to protect to public with respect to CPAs in the State of New Hampshire. Mr. Chickering served on this Board from 2003 through 2013.
Mr. Chickering also served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), which is a regulatory body of the Certified Public Accounting industry, working with all States in the U.S. regarding the administration of the Certified Public Accountancy exam and general State accountancy regulation. Mr. Chickering was a Member of NASBA from 2003 through 2014. Mr. Chickering served as Northeast Regional Director from 2010 through 2013. Mr. Chickering was Chairman of NASBA's Communications Committee from 2010 through 2013, Chairman of NASBA'S Relations with Member Boards Committee in 2014 and a Member of NASBA's Audit Committee in 2014.
Mr. Chickering is the past President, Vice President and Board Member of the Board of Directors for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Manchester, NH, where he also serves on the Finance, Membership and Endowment Committees. Mr. Chickering is also an instructor for the Church's Our Whole Lives Program (OWL).
Mr. Chickering is also the Past Chairman and Board Member of the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra, where he served on the Board from 1998 through 2005.
Mr. Chickering maintains 40 hours per year in continuing education in the field of government auditing.
